Each line is quantity times price. Tax is added on top using the rate you enter. Check the numbers yourself before you send, especially if your country has special rounding rules.
Tip: in the print dialog choose “Save as PDF”.

Invoicing tips for small businesses
- Quantity times unit price gives the line total. For hourly work, quantity is the hours.
- Enter tax as a percentage, e.g. 20 for 20%. Leave it at 0 if you're not registered for tax.
- Do one quick sanity check before sending: add the line totals in your head and compare with the subtotal.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I calculate an invoice total?
- Multiply quantity by unit price for each line, add the lines to get the subtotal, then add tax (subtotal times the tax rate). The calculator does all three as you type.
- Does it work out tax?
- Yes. Enter your tax rate and the tax amount and grand total update. It uses the single rate you enter, so check it matches your local rules.
- Is the invoice calculator free?
- Yes. There's no account and no watermark on the PDF.
