Invoicing tips for hair stylists
- For bridal parties or group bookings, itemize each person's services ("Bride (cut, color, style): $250; Bridesmaid 1 (updo): $85") so everyone knows their share.
- Add retail products (shampoo, styling tools) as their own lines with quantity and price. Much cleaner than folding them into the service.
- Require a deposit (30-50%) for bridal or large bookings. Send the invoice when they book, with the balance due on the day of service.

- Do I need to invoice if clients pay same-day?
- Usually not. Some clients still want a receipt for expense tracking or their own records, and having one ready looks good and keeps your own bookkeeping tidy.
- How do I invoice for bridal or group work?
- Send one invoice to whoever booked (the bride or group organizer) with each person's services listed, or separate invoices if everyone's paying on their own. Collect a 50% deposit up front and the balance on the day of the event.
