GST replaced most of India's indirect taxes, and it came with fairly detailed invoice rules. If you're registered, your invoices have to be GST-compliant, showing your GSTIN and how the tax is split. This template starts at 18% GST, the common rate for services. Change it to whichever slab applies (5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%).
Bill in rupees, itemize your services, and download a PDF you can share with clients or upload when it's time for GST filing.
Tip: in the print dialog choose “Save as PDF”.

What a compliant invoice needs in India
- Your GSTIN and the client's GSTIN (for B2B), plus both parties' names and addresses.
- A consecutive invoice number, the invoice date, and HSN/SAC codes for the items.
- The taxable value and GST (split into CGST/SGST for intra-state, or IGST for inter-state).
Frequently asked questions
- What GST rate applies to my invoice in India?
- That comes down to the goods or services and their GST slab (5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%). Most professional services sit at 18%. Set the correct rate in the tax field.
- Do I need a GSTIN to raise a GST invoice?
- Yes. Only GST-registered businesses can issue a tax invoice with GST. If you're not registered, what you send instead is a bill of supply, without GST.
